HARARE – Popular comedian Tomato (real name Lot Magarianzo) has died after a short illness.
Tomato was ushered into limelight by Mbare-based music producer DJ Fantan (Arnold Kamudyariwa) of the Chillspot Records stable.
Fantan who revealed that Tomato had been admitted to a local hospital a few days ago, announced the sad development.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of Lot Magarianzo populary known as Tomato the comedian,” he said.
Tomato was hospitalised some time last week following a stroke, swollen legs and water in the heart.
Fantan also paid tribute to the late comedian: “Tomato was born in August 1991 and today 23 June 2021 around 5 am. May Tomato’s Soul Rest in Peace.”
