HARARE – Transport Minister Joel Biggie Matiza has died from Covid-19 becoming the fourth minister to succumb to the virus.
Information ministry secretary Nick Mangwana announced the news in a communique.
Matiza was hospitalised last week. He was 59 years old.
Matiza, died of COVID-19 on Friday evening at a private hospital in the capital Harare.
Earlier today, former education minister Aeneas Chigwedere also succumbed to COVID-19, and following Matiza’s death.
It was revealed that Paradzai Zimondi, 73, the country’s former head of prisons, also succumbed to the virus.
