Khupe’s Madness Continues…as Hwende writes to Speaker of Parly

HARARE - Chaos has continued to hit the MDC Alliance party led by Nelson Chamisa after eight senators were recalled by the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe from the August House on Wednesday.

HARARE — Chaos continued to engulf the Nelson Chamisa-led MDC Alliance party after eight senators were recalled from August House by the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe (pictured left) on Wednesday.

The dismissal was announced by Senate Speaker Mabel Chinomona, Cresencia Chabuka, Spiwe Ncube, Phyllis Ndlovu, Hebert Sinamupande, Gideon Shoko, Mellina Pfuti, Helen Zivira and Tapfumaneyi Wunganai being led through the exit door.

Last month, MDC-T General Secretary Douglas Mwonzora recalled 13 MDC Alliance MPs from Parliament.

Meanwhile, MDC Alliance General Secretary Charlton Hwende (pictured right) has written to Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda asking for the appointment of an Acting Chief Whip and Chief Whip Deputy to the National Assembly.

It comes after the MDC-T, led by Thokozani Khupe, last month removed opposition leader of the National Assembly Prosper Mutseyami and opposition leader of parliament Thabitha Khumalo.

“Please note that our MDC Alliance party has appointed the following members to lead the party in parliament,” the letter reads.

“The Honorable Lynnet Karenyi – Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Eric Murai (Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons) and Jasmine Toffa (Deputy Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons).”
