Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is off to India to join Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2022 season as a replacement for the injured Englishman Mark Wood.
Wood withdrew from the squad after injuring his elbow during the 1st Test against West Indies forcing Lucknow Super Giants who are coached by Andy Flower to turn to Muzarabani as a replacement.
Muzarabani becomes the first Zimbabwean cricketer in eight years to to feature in the IPL.
The Indian consulate in Zimbabwe met with Muzarabani and congratulated him for his stint in India before he left the country.
They shared a picture on Twitter and wrote:
“Ambassador met with Mr Blessing Muzarabani, the Zimbabwean bowler, as he prepared to leave for #IPL2022. Ambassador wished him & his team #LucknowSuperGiants the very best.”
